Job Description

Company Overview
Rhythm is a global, commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to transforming the lives of patients living with rare neuroendocrine diseases. We develop medicines for previously untreatable or undertreated diseases. We recognize the courage it takes for patients and their caregivers to begin their journey of advocacy to find the answers they need. Their courage inspires us to challenge convention, ask bold questions and seek answers for them. Every day, we strive for excellence through our willingness to adapt, learn, and our tenacity to overcome barriers, together.

Opportunity Overview
Rhythm is seeking a Statistical Programmer to join our Biostatistics and Statistical Programming team. This role will provide statistical programming hands-on support across clinical studies, regulatory submissions, and cross-functional development activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant analysis datasets, tables, listings, and figures; contributing to study-level and integrated submission deliverables; and partnering closely with Biostatistics, Data Management, Clinical Development, Medical Writing, Regulatory, and external vendors. Depending on level, the role may also include broader responsibility for study oversight, process improvement, standards development, vendor oversight, and mentoring programmers. The level will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, technical depth, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead or support statistical programming activities for assigned clinical studies, including development, validation, and quality control of analysis datasets, tables, listings, and figures for study reports, regulatory submissions, and internal decision-making.
  • Serve as a study lead programmer or programming representative, partnering closely with Biostatistics, Data Management, Clinical Development, Medical Writing, Regulatory, and external vendors to deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Develop, review, and maintain ADaM specifications, TLF shells, programming documentation, reusable macros, and study-level programming standards in alignment with company procedures and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide input into protocols, statistical analysis plans, CRF design and annotation, edit checks, SDTM specifications, integrated data review, and submission strategy to ensure traceability, consistency, and efficient downstream analysis.
  • Support regulatory submission readiness, including preparation and review of define.xml, reviewer guides, submission-ready datasets, and related documentation in compliance with CDISC and global regulatory requirements.
  • Identify programming risks, drive issue resolution, and recommend process improvements that enhance quality, scalability, efficiency, and inspection readiness across studies and programs.
  • Depending on level, mentor junior programmers, provide technical guidance, contribute to resource planning, oversee vendor deliverables, and help shape departmental standards, tools, and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
  • MS or equivalent degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years relevant statistical programming experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO settings; vendor oversight experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAS programming, including Base SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH, SAS/SQL, SAS/ODS, and macro development; experience with R or other modern programming tools is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of CDISC standards, including SDTM, ADaM, define.xml, reviewer guides, and electronic submission requirements in eCTD format.
  • Experience supporting study-level and integrated analyses, including ISS/ISE or other cross-study deliverables, with strong understanding of clinical trial reporting and regulatory submission processes.
  • Able to work independently, manage priorities, collaborate cross-functionally, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • For manager-level candidates, experience mentoring programmers, overseeing external vendors, and contributing to resource planning or process improvement is a plus.

This role is based out of our corporate office in Boston, Massachusetts. Rhythm operates in a hybrid-work model. Candidates applying must be willing and able to be in the Boston office in coordination with their department and business needs. This role may involve some travel.

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $165,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. This role may be eligible for benefits and other compensation such as restricted stock units.
